To boldly say what no chick has said before...

Let's start this off by saying, simply: Nobody on Live Journal is 'brand new'.
That is to say that information travels fast here. So I know damn well that when someone
tried to put the kabosh on the exploitation of the MM & EJO pics, within 24 hours everyone
in an LJ community consisting of Adama & Roslin fans, Roslin fans, Mary McDonnell fans
and any other related fandom, therein, KNEW ABOUT THOSE PICTURES! So, I am not even
going to entertain the people who claim someone people who have no problem using the
pics as ICON are unaware. Spare me.
The truth is this: I am pissed off. Why am I pissed off you may ask? Because I saw those
pics on Facebook. I even had a few friends who are also friends of the photographer post
those pics on my profile. I was elated. I was grateful. It was an awesome gesture. But not
once did I think, "Oh! Let me take these on over to every fandom in the universe and exploit
them!" Or, "Let me ignore the fact that these are personal pics from someone's photo album
on Facebook, and make some icons outta them." Who does that?
If they were your pictures, would you have appreciated this? Would you have turned a blind eye
if say, one day you met Mary and Eddie and took a pic or two with them and you treasured the
moment and put it on your personal space on Facebook and then, let's say some fangirls
decided they had the right to take them, not credit you, and drop them every where so they could
fawn and drool and whatever else they do?
Fuck no! You would be pissed! I know plenty of LJers who don't like people taking pics off
their journals without asking. And even when you ask it's an emphatic NO. I know LJers who
have yet to share their Dragon Con pics. And that is their right. It's everyone right to protect
THEIR SHIT. So yeah, this is why I am pissed. Because everyone on LJ should know better.
Anyone using that pic is doing it because they don't give a shit. There is no excuse. As awesome
as those pics are, and as badly as I want to take them to kinkos and blow them up and turn them
into posters, I won't. Why? Because I practice restraint. Oh, and because I have respect!

I am a fiend for flashy-freaky-imagery. If it's got Avante Garde or Haute Couture and has some (or all) science fiction elements, from Robots to people who are not quite people...to spaceships to utopias or techno-dystopic societies or fiendish leaders who may or may not have one or more body parts that are bionic or...
...anyway. This video is dope.

How fucking awesome is it that the same day I was lamenting that Tricia Helfer and Grace Park
(although both gorgeous), look too friggin' skinny on the cover of MAXIM, that I then spied TINA FEY
ON HARPER'S BAZAAR! The interview rocks multi colored socks! The spread inside kicks bodacious
ass. I've got my copy, so I can brag. But I am still thinking about how to go about picking up a copy of MAXIM.
And it has nothing to do with it being a drool battery for men with eye-suck. It has everything to do with the fact
that I WANT A FUCKING MARY MCDONNELL COVER!
Now that I've gotten that out of my system...

Sometimes it feels like there is so much to write, and other times there is nothing to write at all.
Thank goodness for the talents who can always manage to write good music.

I've been saying for a few years now that Mary McDonnell has superpowers. And ya know, I've been laughed at...mocked even. Hey, some kids even left some 'stuff' at my front door that may or may not have been human in origin. But ya know, Magellan got ridiculed. Marconi. Newton. So, I'm prepared to be badgered incessantly for my beliefs. Usually you have to have some sort of quantitative data to back you up when you make such wild claims, so I hereby give you exhibit A.

Everyone has a tradition. I am not talking the really old cultural ones. Or even the generational family ones. I am
talking about a clan of cousins who do something together whenever the need arises. My sister, my brother, my
cousin Frank and I had a tradition. DJ AM. We saw him at every venue in Massachusetts. We always danced to
his beats like it was 1999, and we lived for his next appearance.
He was just to fucking young to die. I am truly, deeply saddened that the guy who brought us together every once
in a while, when life got too hectic, didn't realize how awesome he was. Because he was. I don't know what he
died of, and some may speculate that it was drugs...suicide. Who knows.
What I do know is he had my respect and admiration. And always will. RIP ADAM GOLDSTEIN. And thank you.

Leslie Caron, Cyd Charisse...and the MAN who started it all.
Well, okay, he didn't START it all, because CAB CALLOWAY and the NICHOLAS BROTHERS were fucking genius too, but Fred Astaire was EPIC-DANCE-GOD goodness. I'm partial to Gene Kelly myself, but my love for Astaire is infinite. The firecracker dance @ the end of HOLIDAY INN is my salvation.

I found this at BoingBoing.net.
Helen Keller is, has been, and always will be too cool for school. She was an activist before there was even a word
for it. Check out this clip of her and her teacher, Anne Sullivan, discussing Helen's childhood and how she came to
be so dang cool...

There is this thing...this hair-do that has been permeating prime time television. The first time I saw it was on Kill Bill Vol. 1:
But then, BSG: Daybreak 2 aired, and lo and behold...
The Mary was rocking it...and it was DOPE!
But that wasn't the end of this epic-do...because...
She rocked it on GREYS anatomy...and the a few weeks after that
episode aired, it was like a memo went out...because everyone
rocked it. Soap Opera stars...prime time crime drama chicks...
But...then...it went back to the only head it actually looks cool on...
Well, not in this^ episode, but in the The Closer: RED TAPE, the first time
we see Sharon 'cylon' Raydor, in her dope ass ARMANI trench, she's
rocking the...you guessed it...the hair-do I have dubbed THE MARY.
And then...same episode, Brenda Johnson TRIED to rock it...but c'mon...
a week later...THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS tried to work it on one
of the doctors on that soap...the characters name eludes me.
But...but...I need more pics of THA MARY rockin' THE MARY. Because she
rocks it best. It's hers.
*I have way too much time on my hands ;p

People talk a lot of shit about God. About the Bible. About Angels. That's their call, but I'm still a sucker for hardcore biblical battles. I grew up on TEN COMMANDMENTS...THE BIBLE...and BEN HUR.
And I cannot wait for LEGION:

So, Eddie Olmos is officially joining the cast of the GREEN HORNET! Yes, the Green Hornet that includes a newly svelte Seth Rogen, and Cameron Diaz. That Green Hornet. Michel Gondry of the fantastical Bjork videos, is set to direct, so you know this is gonna be some psychotropic, trippy ass visionary shit with a slight comedic flair.
Well, the fact that it exists reminds me of this thing called THE-UNIVERSE-IS-A-FUNNY-FUCKING-PLACE. This little idiom basically states, if Eddie is in a superhero-esque picture, than Mary has to be in one too. Fate and the cosmos are tricky bitches.
I smell a really freakin' awesome deal in the air. The Mary shall have her chance soon.
Yup.
